The diabetes holy grail

Is the Diabetes cure real or just an urban legend?

Conventional wisdom, says diabetes is incurable and for all type 1 diabetic’s out there, this happens to be true.

We are not talking about type 1 ‘s however because for them, the pancreas stops working completely and they tend to be insulin dependent with artificial pumps that replace that loving body part they lost, otherwise known as the pancreas.

For type 2 diabetics the pancreas is still somewhat functional and produces Insulin, most of the time type 2′s just have an insulin resistance in their bodies.

Many Type 2′s are overweight and this plays a key factor in the body’s insulin needs.

Most type 2 are on oral medications to increase the body’s insulin sensitivity, while some are still insulin dependent.

A Cure means you are at the point when you do not have to take your medications any more.
This is the point where exercise and diet changes alone are good enough to keep your body going without the need for additional help that diabetes medicines do.

Curious many doctors polled do believe that this state is possible but they go just short of calling it a cure. Many caution that a weather eye and continual testing should be upheld because it is still possible to regress back into a diabetic state.

When I was diagnosed I might have been inadvertently in this state, I couldn’t afford to pay for my diabetes management and I kept the symptoms at bay by changing my diet and increasing my exercise outputs, I managed to stave off the symptoms of hyperglycemia for a few years before the symptoms came back.

Now for me it was born out of necessity and I never tracked or tested at this time but I have always been curious. Most of us have felt this phenomena, when you increase your exercise levels and become fitter, most of the time the doctor will lower your dosages.

I have never been able to get cured but I was insulin dependent in the beginning and now I am not, and I can tell you that exercise has been a big part of why this happened.

I do realize that a few people will say that it is possible and has been done, with testimonials to boot.
The late night informmercials hawking cures for what ails you, books, manuals, supplements and what not.

It is the life we live in and it is understandable because the diabetic life is not an easy one and it is a scary, not one diabetic i know would say that their lives were so much better since they got the disease.

But before you go wasting money on these supposed cures, you need to learn what the basis of them is before doing that.

A cure I don’t know if there is one not enough information is available on it for me to make a definitive decision but it does make me wonder though, If I was able to get out of my Insulin dependency state then maybe just maybe it is possible.

Have you been “cured” maybe you can share your story with us.

Do I smell a project in the works, stay tuned…….
