How to become a zen master in your diabetes management
Staying stressed is just not good for your health and you need to find a way to relieve it.
A stressed diabetic will almost most likely have elevated blood glucose levels.
My biggest source of stress in the past has been the lack of enough money. I am talking about, I am unemployed and all my savings have dwindled to nothing.
I felt depressed and completely overwhelmed when I didn’t know when the next meal was coming from, leave alone your diabetes medicines and supplies. The family looking to you to take care of them and you don’t know how, the stress level can be great and every little failure just magnifies everything.
You feel like the walls are closing around you and nothing you do really helps the situation, I am telling you that’s a great stressful time and I know that a lot of people go through situations on on a daily basis.
The key is learning how to mitigate the everyday stress and how to fight through the greater stressful situations.
I have some stress busters that will or will not make you a zen master but it will most likely improve your overall life
- Meditate – Take sometime for yourself daily even if it is 10 minutes to just relax and take a moments breath it will help you a lot in stress reduction.
- Do not let the things that you can’t control bother you (easier said than done)
- Exercise is a good stress buster, even a few minutes can be a great help
- Positive thinking and cheerful spirit will reduce stress. Being gloomy kinda increases your stress levels
- Action and doing something positive about whats stressing you could help relieve it
- Talking about the situation with a family member or friend will help you relieve the stress
- If the stress is being caused by a person, walking away from the person or situation will help
- Hope keeping hope and faith that things will get better will lighten your mood and relieve some of the stress.
- Doing something you love, will help reduce your stress
- Find an escape, something that keeps your mind off the situation if its listening to music or watching a movie. Whatever it takes.
- Laughter is a great stress buster and it instantly lifts your mood
- Try some Aromatherapy
- Sex will definately eliminate some stress
- Control your anger
- A good nights sleep
- take a vacation away from your daily bustle and hustle
- Relaxation therapy
