Diabetes Management Day 2
I started day 1 of the weight training as well, I will keep my cardio(spinning class) on a daily basis but add weight training on alternate days, the premise being that weight training builds more muscles which in turn helps the body burn more fuel.
Mine happens to be a circuit training method which means that I work full body exercises but finish a set of exercises with 15-30 second rest time till the end followed by 2 minute rest and then start all over again.
My spinning class yesterday was wild and left me with a bruised tail bone I think coz it hurts a bit when I sit down which meant that my time on the bike today was mostly on the standing, climbing position. It worked out however because most of today’s workout was a hilly climb.
I had an interesting thing happen yesterday and I posed the question on Tu diabetes. when I tested pre workout I was 175 and after workout I had a BG of 215 which was weird to me because I had always thought that your sugars go down after workout. with all the comments from everyone, there was a consensus that you have to test about an hour after work out to get the optimum results of the BG”s from your work out so today from 225 pre work out to 146 post work out, the post work out result is about an hour after workout which is what I will be doing from now on.
